Are you doing a research project, but don't know which sources are safe? We've already done a post on how see if a source is bad, but what if you don't want to click on every one of them and do an evaluation? Look no further, I have you covered.

First, check for the domain type. Good ones include .com*, .edu, .org*, .gov, .net*.

The recommendations marked with a * are sometimes reliable, but beware of sketchy looking websites. See our post on sketchy websites (Looking Sketchy) for more information.

Second, check for recommendations. Search for the website, check its origins, etc.

Finally, you are going to want to check the content. If you see an article that is obviously a joke, and is not marked so, it is likely the entire website is a joke article website.

You know those websites. They're everywhere. Phishing and malware sites. Yeah, some of the look legitimate, but mostly, they look fake....
